Established in Sydney, Australia, in 1989, VIA International is a premier overseas production coordination company with a career spanning more than 35 years.
Our founder, Norio Tanaka, began his career in France, where he became deeply involved in automotive film production. His portfolio includes iconic works such as the famous Isuzu Gemini commercials and the Mazda Capella campaign starring Alain Delon. Since relocating to Sydney, he has continued to support a vast number of Japanese TV commercials and advertising photography, with a specialized focus on automotive graphics and movies.
Since 1990, we have expanded our operations globally. Through a robust network spanning New Zealand, the USA, Europe, and Asia, we provide swift and seamless coordination for TV commercials, media advertising, television programs, music videos, and corporate branded content. Our strong local partnerships worldwide ensure that every production is executed to the highest professional standard.

Tomoya Kitamura
Tomo is the main man at VIA, he’s hands on and always available, Tomo’s reputation as a committed calm producer is well known.
He started off working as a radio PA while living in Tokyo before moving to Australia In the late 80’’s, where he met Norio, immediately impressed with the energy and calmness of this young man Norio immediately offered him a job as a production assistant, within two years he was the one of Line Producer at VIA International.
Tomo is a 24/7 producer, always with a warm smile and calm thoughtful demeanour, Tomo has produced some off the largest TVCs ever shot in Australia for brands such as Toyota, and Subaru.

Mark Risso-Gill
Mark is VIA’s UK based Producer.
After Producing an award-winning short film at the Royal College of Art in London, Mark quickly established himself in the film industry working as a Producer on music videos and commercials.
Mark has enjoyed a diverse career; which includes a stint as an agency producer for Hogarth WW in Singapore as well as running successful production companies in London and Sydney.
His diligent budgeting and logistical expertise have found him managing projects across the globe for agencies such as Dent-su , Saatchis ,DDB, BBDO, Leo Burnetts, Gray, TBWA and more on many awarded campaigns. His impressive client list include Emirates, Bose, Jaguar, BMW, Honda, Toyota, Allianz, IBM, Master Foods ,McDonald’s, Brother, Hasbro, Suntory (Schweppes) and many more.
A safe pair of hands, Mark enjoys the challenges and camaraderie that working on a production entails, available 24/7 with a ready smile Mark is an ideal production partner.

Hiroyuki Kurokawa
KURO is a Japanese line producer in the audiovisual and event industries.
Born in Tokyo, he later lived in New York and Los Angeles before settling in Europe, mainly in Paris.
Fluent in several languages such as Japanese, French, and English, he has developed a deep understanding of the cultural nuances in international projects. His experience includes working on advertising films, documentaries, TV series, as well as trade shows, fairs, and corporate events.
With strong skills in logistics, human resources, and financial management, he has worked for major Japanese brands such as Aisin, Canon, Honda, Kanebo, KDD, Mitsubishi, Nissan, NTT Docomo, Toyota, and others.
A hands-on professional, he can handle project A to Z- from conceptualization to the final realization of all audiovisual and event-related processes.

Ken Aikawa
Ken Aikawa began his career at VIA in 2001 under Norio Tanaka, working as a coordinator and line producer on various advertising shoots, primarily for automotive commercials and promotional videos. He has since actively participated in the production of documentaries and dramas, and through his involvement in a wide range of projects, he has become a professional with extensive expertise in diverse types of filming.He has also participated in projects outside of Oceania, including in Germany, the United States, andMaldives, and Singapore.
In Germany, he participated in the filming of the Nissan GTR development scenes at the Nürburgring for five years, starting from the first year.
His commercials include numerous automotive-related projects for Daihatsu, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, and others. More recently, he has worked on the Gold Coast filming for the drama “Black Forceps 2” the music video for Fujii Kaze’s “Hana” and remote location shoots for the TV program “The World Heritage”.

Kazuaki Ono
Aki (Kazuaki) Ono grew up surrounded by cars and motorcycles. Influenced by his father, who was also a photographer, Aki naturally built a career centered on automotive advertising. Since relocating to Sydney in 2014, he has expanded his reach across all categories, seamlessly blending photography and motion.
His versatility is his hallmark: one day he might be chasing the perfect shot for the JAL (Japan Airlines) Calendar, and the next, he’s acting as Director and DOP. On the racetrack, he is known for his hands-on approach—often operating the camera bike himself at racing speeds.
His recent portfolio is diverse, including European shoots for Canon promotions, serving as Documentary Director for JAXA’s “Hayabusa2” project, handling broadcasts for Tourism Australia, and working as the personal photographer for football star Keisuke Honda. Unbound by genre or geography, Aki brings a spirit of creative freedom to every set. His work takes him across the globe, from Australia, New Zealand, and Japan to Asia, the UAE, China, Europe, and the USA.
